The Party of the European Left (EL) denounces and demands justice for the murder of 15 peasants and several wounded by colombian police in the southwestern municipality of Tumaco. In the EL we know that what happened is not an isolated event, since the violence and extermination of peasants and their leaders already seems to be part of an agenda that includes the commitment to comply with the agreement in point 4 of the Peace Accords of Havana.
Gregor Gysi, President of the European Left, on the proposals by the French President Emmanuel Macron concerning a new orientation of the European Union:
The French President Macron gave a speech yesterday at the Sorbonne about Europe spanning across a wide variety of topics. He called the EU “too slow, too weak, too inefficient” and talked about a re-foundation of Europe.

The raised issues can only be solved politically, never by police or justice. We call for a dialogue between the governments of Spain and Catalonia without winners and losers.
